1. Who we are

ReviseEcon is an AI-powered revision platform for WJEC and Eduqas A-Level Economics students. References to "we", "us" or "our" in this policy refer to ReviseEcon. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, please contact us at privacy@reviseecon.co.uk.

2. What data we collect

  • Account data: your name, email address, and the exam board and level you select during onboarding.
  • Usage data: answers you submit, AI feedback received, MCQ attempts, flashcard sessions, and XP earned. This data is used to personalise your experience and generate your progress statistics.
  • Payment data: subscription and billing information is processed by Stripe. We do not store card details on our servers.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, and device information collected automatically for security and performance purposes.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide and improve the ReviseEcon platform and its features.
  • To personalise your revision experience based on your exam board and progress.
  • To send you transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, subscription receipts).
  • To provide customer support when you contact us.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your submitted answers or personal data to train AI models beyond your own personalised feedback.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

  • Supabase — database and authentication hosting (EU data centres).
  • Anthropic (Claude API) — AI marking and content generation. Your answers are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing.
  • Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Vercel — platform hosting and edge functions.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and usage data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@reviseecon.co.uk.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your login session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from logging in.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by displaying a notice on the platform. Continued use of ReviseEcon after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
